Twelve Below, a venture capital firm based in New York, has recently secured $108 million across two new funds, focusing on pre-seed and seed investments. Founded in 2021, the firm is known for its traditional venture capital approach, prioritizing trust and strategic, high-conviction investments. They target a 10% to 15% ownership in startups, mainly in sectors like fintech, healthcare, and energy. With a unique direct engagement model, founders work closely with the team, avoiding the fragmentation of a platform team. Their latest funding includes a second early-stage fund of $80 million and a $28 million opportunity fund, raising their total assets to $160 million, with plans to invest in 25-30 companies, emphasizing reinvestment in their existing portfolio
