OpenClaw In The Enterprise

Happy Tuesday Brex Community,
This newsletter got a nice shout out, we are big fans of Beehiiv and love to get mentioned by them!
To switch gears, It is wild how quickly OpenClaw went from a random GitHub project to one of the most talked-about tools in AI, racking up over 250,000 GitHub stars and 2 million weekly visitors within just a few months of launch. We have clearly moved past the era of using AI to polish emails. Companies are now handing autonomous agents the keys to their operations, letting them clear inboxes, sync data across disconnected systems, and execute multi-step workflows without anyone babysitting them.
The opportunity is real. Early enterprise data shows a 20% improvement in operational efficiency and a 75% reduction in task resolution time for teams running agent-powered workflows. But so are the risks. OpenClaw agents have already been tricked through prompt injection attacks into leaking sensitive financial data, and in other cases they have deleted emails and wiped code libraries entirely. A Cisco study found roughly 20% of community plugins to be malicious, affecting around 30,000 deployments.
The enterprise security world is scrambling to catch up. NVIDIA launched NemoClaw, an enterprise-grade extension adding privacy controls and network guardrails on top of OpenClaw. Most early enterprise adopters have landed on human-in-the-loop setups, where agents handle routine tasks autonomously but flag anything high-stakes for human review.
The time savings are too significant for companies to sit this one out. The real challenge heading into the rest of 2026 is making sure the guardrails keep pace with the ambition.
If you are working on an OpenClaw solution that combines employee enablement while also making sure IT departments are comfortable, please reach out to me, would love to know what you are building!
Have a great week!

Zero Shot is a new venture capital firm founded by a group of former OpenAI employees, including Evan Morikawa, Andrew Mayne, Shawn Jain, Kelly Kovacs, and Brett Rounsaville. The firm is deeply connected to the OpenAI alumni network and receives guidance from former leaders of the organization. Currently, Zero Shot is targeting a 100 million fund and has already reached a first close of 20 million, which has allowed them to quietly begin writing checks to promising new companies.
The firm focuses primarily on early stage AI startups with a unique investment thesis that signals a broader shift in the industry. Instead of backing purely software based foundational models in an already crowded space, Zero Shot aims to fund companies that are solving hard real world problems. They specifically look for startups that are applying foundational AI models to physical systems such as robotics, drones, and machine centric hardware, preferring to transition from digital environments to physical applications.
Leveraging their deep technical expertise and insider knowledge from OpenAI, the team has already started building a portfolio of innovative companies. While operating somewhat quietly, they have backed several startups including Worktrace AI, Foundry Robotics, and another unnamed company currently operating in stealth mode. This contrarian strategy of investing in AI powered physical hardware sets Zero Shot apart as they seek to bridge the gap between artificial intelligence and the physical world.
