Your playbook for New York Tech Week success
Proven hacks to stand out and build meaningful connections

Happy Tuesday Brex community,
Brex is hosting 9 events during New York Tech Week (June 2-8th), and if you're going, you better go smart or stay home. Don't waste time at random events. Map out your targets beforehand and study the hosts, speakers, and featured companies. Send them LinkedIn, X DMs or emails 24 hours before introducing yourself. Preparation beats luck every time. Print your investment memo, fold it in a nice envelope with a handwritten note, and keep it ready. It's like showing up with wad of cash to a wedding, memorable and slightly audacious. Wear your startup swag proudly (unique swag gets free attention), stay hydrated with seltzer instead of alcohol, and if an event won't move your business forward, skip it and stay productive in the office.
Take the subway instead of burning cash on surge priced Ubers, and if you're wearing an AI pin, be transparent about recording. Consent matters, especially in private offices. Most importantly, document everything and publish fearlessly because content is king right now. Tech Week isn't just networking, it's a showcase opportunity for founders to shine with intention, preparation, and purpose. The magic happens in the margins between scheduled sessions, in conversations you architect rather than stumble upon.
